How MooieDeco started
Four chapters, from a Dutch wedding venue to the beach at Guadalmina.
The beginning
Daphne spent ten years as a stylist at Dutch weddings and corporate parties; Juan built and ran everything behind the scenes. In 2018 they swapped the Netherlands for San Pedro de Alcántara — and discovered that Europe’s finest party venue was already there: the beach at sunset.

The first picnic
What started as a luxury picnic for friends on Guadalmina beach got out of hand, in the best way. The photos went round, the first strangers called, and within six months there was something on the sand every week.

Sustainable from day one
Work with decoration every day and you also see what gets thrown away every day. So MooieDeco deliberately chose reusable: the entire balloon decoration line comes from Dutch manufacturer PilaMania — storm-proof, beautiful for weeks and packed away compactly afterwards instead of binned.

Where we are now
More than 250 events later, MooieDeco is a team of four plus a regular summer crew. Still small enough that you get the same person on the phone from quote to take-down — and still with the best workplace in Europe.
